Amargeti is a traditional village with Tavernas, Coffee Shop, Co-op Bank, Village Store and Post Office. It also benefits from a regular Bus Service to Pafos and the surrounding villages. Donkeys can regularly be seen being used in everyday life by the villagers.

It is a mainly agricultural community with vineyards, almond and other fruit groves, and has its own winery and museum. There is a Day Centre which has facilities for many activities including care for the more senior members of the community and a Peripatetic GP service every friday afternoon. There is also a seasonal artists school, and riding stables nearby. There are many beautiful scenic walks around the peaceful countryside surrounding the village, which benefits from being above the humidity line and below the snow line making for an idyllic climate. The village itself is 20 minutes travel to Pafos Airport, or 25 minutes to Pafos Town.
